Text Box: Coming Up!  ASAP Training     July 8-9, 2010 are the dates scheduled for ASAP/Tier I training. What was first required under Act 61, later Act 760, and later incorporated as requirements under Act 1060, is taking place at Little Rock at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. In two days four classes of required training will be offered, beginning on July 8th with Dr. Benny Gooden of Fort Smith teaching SF101A - School Revenues, and SF101B - School Expenditures. The following day Freeman Wish from Clarksdale will be teaching SM102 - School Ethics and Audit Compliance, and Nathan Barber from Russellville will be teaching PS101 - School Purchasing. These four classes have been approved for the required content under the law, and must be taken as Initial Tier I training by both the superintendent and one other school business official with overall budgeting and account coding responsibility. Another two "update" classes are also part of Initial Tier I training, and will be taught at coops and/or summer and fall workshops. The four core classes and the update classes comprise the 12 required hours of training called Initial Tier I training. If a school business official or superintendent has completed the Initial Tier I 12-hour training in prior years, they are only responsible for taking the "update" classes each year thereafter, satisfying the Annual Tier I 4-hour requirement.
